BIBLE IN A YEAR:
Exo. 1-4 TO THE LAST DROP
MEMORIZE: "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God" (Romans 8:16)
READ: Ephesians 2:11-136
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). Another benefit of the New Covenant is that it makes abundance available to its beneficiaries. In ways you have suffered lack, God’s abundance will overtake you this season. The above scripture talks about the poverty of Jesus. Most times when we read this, what often comes to mind is financial poverty; whereas, life which is in the blood is far above money. Leviticus 17:11 says, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul”. When Jesus was being crucified, He emptied Himself of the life contained in His blood. He became impoverished up to the last drop of blood so that you can receive maximum benefit. Life, abundant supply and every good thing can be yours through this covenant!
The New Covenant also provides for peace. Peace is of varying degrees. The one Jesus offers is the exceptional, uncommon peace which surpasses the understanding or definition of mortals. In John 20:19, 21 and 26, the Lord thrice declared peace on the disciples. God is quite economical regarding the use of words. If you are a Bible student, you would observe that the Words of Jesus were few but weighty. If He had to repeat the words, that was grace. If He mentioned the same thing three times, that was amazing grace. Your peace is guaranteed. The Lord is speaking peace to you this moment. Whatever storm is working contrary to your boat of progress, I speak forth peace. Every war against you will cease this moment. You will enjoy peace in every area of your life in Jesus’ Name. According to today’s reading, the New Covenant makes us heavenly citizens. This brings us closer to God. Romans 8:15-16 says it makes it possible for us to call God not just ‘Father’, but ‘Daddy’. The New Covenant eradicates distance between you and God. If you have entered into this covenant relationship with God, you will share some level of intimacy with Him. How intimate are you with Jesus today?
ACTIONPOINT: Jesus was emptied for you to be full. How full of His Spirit and power are you?
