BIBLE IN A YEAR: Psa 109-113
MANIFESTATION OF THE SPIRIT
MEMORIZE: "And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD" (Isaiah 11:2)
READ: Isaiah 11:1-5
“And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD” (Isaiah 11:2). God is a spirit. One of the implications of God as a spirit is the sevenfold manifestation of the Spirit of God. From the above scripture the Holy Spirit has at least seven ways of manifesting His presence in the lives of believers. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11 enumerates the gifts of the Holy Spirit which enable believers function adequately in any ministry office. The same Holy Spirit manifests His presence in diverse ways, depending on the desire of the host, the extent to which He is recognized as Lord, and the task or challenge at hand.
Whenever the Spirit of God resides in a man, the product of such natural and supernatural link is extraordinary and miraculous. In Daniel 5:10-12, the link between the Holy Spirit and Daniel was so strong that it produced uncommon wisdom to the extent that ungodly colleagues testified that ‘the spirit of the holy gods’ resided in him. He cannot be hidden. If you say you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and there is no visible evidence through the Spirit’s manifestation in any of the seven ways, something is amiss in that relationship.
In Genesis 41:30-40, a fusion of the Holy Spirit and a man - Joseph, produced divine counsel to the extent that Pharaoh confessed that the Spirit of God dwells in him. One reason believers and even men of God hardly see the manifestation of the Spirit of counsel in their lives and ministries is because He is only a guest a visitor, not a permanent resident. The Spirit can freely manifest in the lives He is Lord over. Is the Holy Spirit Lord of your life? Ahitophel was one man who allowed the Spirit of counsel to operate in him until he became a highly distinguished counsellor. Today, there is a proliferation of counselors in different fields, yet there is a dearth of spirit-filled, problem-solving counselors, who can be tools of the Holy Spirit. Can you be that vessel that God will make outstanding in counselling ministry?
ACTIONPOINT: Worship the Holy Spirit for an hour today. Ask for a closer walk with Him.
