BIBLE IN A YEAR: Lam 1-2
OPEN MY EYES
MEMORIZE: "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law" (Psalms 119:18)
READ: 2 Kings 6:13-17
Elisha’s servant rose one morning to go out. As he lifted his eyes, he saw that the Syrian army had surrounded them. Out of fright, he ran back to report to his master. Elisha told him not to panic because the forces on their side outnumbered their enemies. The physical eyes of Elisha’s servant were opened, but his spiritual eyes were shut. Usually, the physical situation speaks of a problem, while the spiritual situation speaks of a solution. If you are always seeing the physical, but never seeing the spiritual, you will be far from solutions. There is always a spiritual version of a physical situation. If you can see the spiritual, you will not fear the physical. Those whose spiritual eyes are open, always see the solution right within the problem. If your spiritual eyes are always open, not only will your problems be solved, you will become an answer to the problems of others. Ask God to open the eyes of your spirit man today.
While Elisha’s servant was panicking, Elisha was leisurely rocking away. What makes the difference between the fearless and the fearful, the problem-ridden and the problem solver are what they see and how they see them. If you can see into the spiritual realm, it is easier to deal with demons and deliver the oppressed. The Lord gave a brother a vision concerning his very bossy and corky senior pastor. He saw an animal like a monkey sitting on the pastor. That was the spirit of pride that controlled him. In such a situation, it is easy to deal with the spirit. You can address it specifically because you can see it. Do you know some demons laugh at those trying to deliver their victims? How you address them will tell whether you have seen them or not. If the demons are many, with spiritual eyes, you will be able to determine if any demon is still lurking somewhere after deliverance.
Believers with spiritual sight are in charge. Usually, they would have seen their spouse, church building design, membership explosion, financial breakthrough, new location, enemy operations, etc. in the spirit realm, which will guide them on how to relate with the subject matter in the physical plane. Demons are liars. During deliverance, some people ask, ‘How many are you? What is your name, where do you come from, Who is your leader?’ etc. They will deceive you because they believe you just want to be entertained. But if your spiritual eyes are open, you will have such information and more. Are the eyes of your spirit opened? Do you see events concerning your life, family, work as they transpire in the spirit realm? Ask God to open your eyes to see behind the scene activities.
ACTIONPOINT: Ask that God will open the eyes of all our pastors in every church. Pray that your spiritual eyes be opened.
