BIBLE IN A YEAR: Ecc 4-6
REDEFINING YOUR NIGHT
MEMORIZE: "Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shall be satisfied with bread" (Proverbs 20:13)
READ: 2 Kings 6:13-14
The Syrian king sent soldiers after Elisha to know where he was hiding. He was not discouraged even after three previous disappointments. Never allow discouragement in your heart. You are assured of victory in any endeavor, if only you keep your doors permanently shut against this unwanted guest. Discouragement can make you to take silly decisions and steps. In 1 Samuel 30:16,18 when David and his army returned from the battle ground, they discovered while they were away, that their homes and families had become prey for their enemies. They were so discouraged that they turned against David, their leader. Never take any important decision when down with discouragement. You may regret it later. In the midst of discouragement and weeping, David found time to encourage himself. It was after he came up from the pit of discouragement that help came. Discouragement is a deep pit. If you fall inside and need help, even when you see the help, you will not recognize it. You will mistake your helpers for the problem. That was what happened to David’s men.
Another notable thing in today’s reading is the time the Syrian army launched their attack. They came at night. They knew that night time is rest time. Not many work at night. Attacking at night is meant to trap the enemy when he least expects danger. The best time to launch an offensive against the powers of darkness, is at night. They will be busy in their covens and would not expect any danger but suddenly, a bomb lands through your intercession, and it explodes in their camp, and they panic and scatter. Any believer who sleeps throughout the night is not following the steps of Jesus. Jesus Christ was a night person. He spent most nights fellowshipping with the Father. In the process, He dislodged the strongholds of darkness and obtained victory for the day.
Those who will succeed in life and ministry, cannot afford to lose their nights to sleep. Every night you stay awake to pray, fellowship with God, study your Bible, or get engaged in some other meaningful assignment, draws you a step closer to your breakthrough. Some believers are far from breakthrough because they love sleep too much. Proverbs says too much sleep causes want, poverty and failure. If you truly want to make it in any area of life, reconsider your nights. Plan a programme for your nights. Before long, you will be noted in hell, as a fellow who cannot be ignored. And Heaven too will note you.
ACTIONPOINT: Plan out your Night Success Strategy. Prayerfully receive grace and discipline to implement it.

this is beautiful..this is awesome..this is......GREAT....honestly....this got me thinking fast...
Every night you stay awake to pray, fellowship with God, study your Bible, or get engaged in some other meaningful assignment, draws you a step closer to your breakthrough...(thats just a tip of the ice).....
this imagination came to me after this message.....everynight the enemy gathers together to replan and restrategise.....when the day breaks...they scatter and they carry out their work in different locations...so i thought to myself...why attack them one by one in different locations during the day instead of just blowing up their gathering, projects and documented plans all together when they do their meeting (at night)...i heard in a sermon once that the call of the name of JESUS CHRIST creates an explosion in the spirit realm....just imagine all this....again..this is only a tip of the ice..
please never let discouragement take over you..mehn they are really terrible...do not be discouraged no matter what...i pray discouragement will not be our weak point in JESUS NAME...AMEN!...cos the devil uses weak points against people over and over....but by the grace of GOD , the LORD will strengthen us with boldness, encouragment and the confidence that come only from HIM in JESUS NAME...AMEN!
other suggestion?...my heart is still burning!
