BIBLE IN A YEAR: Psa. 10-12
RECEIVING EARTH'S INCREASES
MEMORIZE: "Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us" (Psalms 67:6)
READ: Psalms 67:1-7
Praise is a powerful spiritual instrument capable of several positive effects in the life and circumstance of the giver. According to today’s reading, concerted, wholehearted and spirit- filled praise can affect the earth. Verse five of our reading says as we praise God “Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God even our own God, shall bless us”. For everyone of us, the earth has some help it has been commanded to deliver to us. We cannot do without it. But after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God placed a curse on the earth for man’s sake Genesis 3:17-19). A simple summary of that curse was that because man disobeyed God’s command, the earth will also disobey man’s command and hoard its help. Ever since, the earth has withheld the blessings of many.
According to Galatians 3:13-14, when Jesus came, by His sacrificial crucifixion, death and resurrection, He broke the curse of the law that bound the earth under those who received Him. But several believers have observed that although the curse has been lifted, their earth is not yielding its increase as it should. This is because the earth is expecting you to force its mouth open. The earth opens its mouth when it wants to swallow or vomit something. To do either, it must be provoked. If you can engage in intense, pure and God-centered praise, the earth will feel some beautiful vibrations. It will trace the location of that worshipper, and as it opens its mouth to join in the praise and dance, it will spill out your hoarded increase, blessings, contracts, promotion, babies, cars, houses, healings, etc.
There are some blessings that no fasting and prayer can bring your way. There are some major increases that will come your way only through offering quality praise. Praise easily attracts God’s presence. If you have tried to solve a particular problem for so long, it may be that the key you are inserting into the key hole is the wrong one. Try the key of praise. If you praise God regularly as He wants, you will not need to spend much time making requests. Your desire will be granted before you even ask. But if you concentrate on requests while praying, you may need to put in so much time, yet the result may not be so encouraging. How often do you praise God? Praising God makes you God-focussed, while always asking makes you need-focussed.
ACTIONPOINT: Force the earth to release your blessings through praise.
